Karuizawa (軽井沢) 1960

Karuizawa 1960. This is the oldest cask of Karuizawa. There’s only 41 bottles in the whole world. Each bottle comes with a handcrafted ivory, each with a different design. It’s about 35,500 USD$ a bottle.

Karuizawa has became a collectible whisky in recent years, and Karuizawa has stopped its operation in 2001. So basically every bottle is a history.

Karuizawa (軽井沢) 10 years

Karuizawa (軽井沢) 10 years, original bottling. It’s very difficult to come across Karuizawa’s original bottling. The distillery closed in 2001 and its whisky are literally antiques, let alone original bottling.

With a light amber color, it displayed very floral notes like chrysanthemum, sandalwood, fruits like peeled grapes. It shares some similarity with Hakushu (白州) 12yo.
