Louis XV, Monaco

Believe it or not, being a fan of chef Alain Ducasse, Louis XV is the only reason that brought me to Monaco. I appreciate his respect for the ingredient’s original flavour, and also his ability to maintain a reasonably high standard for the many restaurants he runs around the world. To a certain extent he feels more like a successful entrepreneur – at least he made it to the top 100 most influential people in the world ranked by Forbes. Continue reading

Mirazur, Menton

Arriving by train at Menton Garavan in Southern France, the town reminded me of Santa Cruz in California – without the beach parties; or perhaps Shifen in Taiwan, without touristy tinge. Located just 20 minutes away from Monte Carlo, it’s a world apart. At the very least you won’t be seeing a flood of Rolls Royces, Lamborghinis and Porches on the streets. Instead, you see people biking and jogging – looks healthy. I’m delighted to set my foot here. Continue reading
