My first visit to Sukiyabashi Jiro Honten felt a little surreal and having the chance to meet Jiro san actually made me nervous. My first meal there was actually pretty good but I was more excited by the fact that I was meeting Jiro. So I decided to revisit this place again.
I purposely made a trip in July just to try Jiro San’s Abalone. It’s perhaps the best abalone sushi I have had so far I have to say. It was so good that I had to order an extra piece.
I have to admit that I enjoyed Jiro San’s sushi more on my second visit. The shari was superb, still the best shari I have ever had. But not every neta was amazing. Other than the abalone, Sardine, Mantis Shrimp, and kurmaebi were my favourites. And of course the egg!
The melon this time was not as ripe as the one I had last time tho, it was a slight disappointment since I always dream about the melon at this restaurant.
Comparing the winter and summer menu, I loved the summer menu much more than winter one. I would definitely love to revisit this place during summer again.
