Kohaku is the sister restaurant of Ishikawa. The interior of the restaurant is quite simple and modern, with a touch of Japanese influence.
Kohaku is quite accessible to foreigner. It’s not too difficult to get a seat there, and they have English speaking staff.
My favourite dish there was the Ayu, the Hairtail with Eggplant and Sansho Miso as well as the Mango Sorbet. I think their dishes are nicely executed in general, with a few exceptional dishes. Thus, it’s an affordable kaiseki restaurant. I would definitely come back for this again.

Hi Keiko, Kohaku sounds really good! I was just wondering, how did you make a reservation for the restaurant? I can’t speak enough Japanese and was going to ring up and speak english, would this be fine? Thanks 🙂
I am sorry, I didn’t book the restaurant myself this time and I usually book restaurant in Japanese. But I think its an English friendly restaurant, there are staff who speak English.
